Green Theatres

PLASA 09
13 – 16 September 2009

On 14 September 2009 The Theatres Trust ran a Special Interest Session at PLASA 09 looking at theatres’ experiences of implementing Display Energy Certificates (or DECs).

In the year since their introduction theatres have achieved DEC ratings ranging from B to G. Carolyn Forsyth from the Unicorn Theatre, Ed Nickols from Northern Stage, Paul Handley from the Royal Court and Jane Lemon from Ambassador Theatre Group talkied about the DEC assessment process and how their theatres have been working to become greener.

The Theatres Trust was also pleased to announce its ECOVENUE initiative, a new three year ERDF funded programme to provide free advice and audits to small scale theatres in London to improve their environmental performance and achieve a DEC Assessment.

Coming soon: more information from the speakers at the seminar

ECOVENUE is supported by the ERDF Programme.
