Workshop | Delivering a Capital Project
The design team, contractors and building contract you use to deliver your capital project need to be right for you. This course helps you to understand the client role, the language of construction, and the challenges you’ll face when leading your theatre through this process.
Those responsible for the overall management of theatres of any size who are at the early stages of planning a major capital project. Especially useful for those who have already attended the ‘Planning a Capital Project’ course and for those who have been admitted to the ACE large capital programme.
There will be case studies from other capital projects, and the opportunity to hear from those who have gone through the process.
By the end of the day you will:
- be familiar with the later RIBA Design stages and their implications for the delivery of your project;
- understand the role of procurement and different construction routes and their implications for your project;
- understand some of the operational and strategic challenges your theatre may face when going through a capital project;
- be able to plan for the re-opening of your theatre and the subsequent period
