Theatres at Risk Adviser vacancy

We are looking to recruit a Theatres at Risk Adviser on a part-time (3 days per week) basis for a fixed term contract for three years.

Theatres Trust is looking to recruit a Theatres at Risk Adviser to work with community / voluntary groups, theatre managements, local authorities and other stakeholders to support the development and execution of strategies to protect or restore theatres as live performance venues. 

The Theatres at Risk Adviser role is to work with theatres on the Theatres at Risk Register and, working with the Architecture Adviser and with input from other members of the advice team, support those theatres to develop and execute plans of action to work towards removing these buildings from the register.  The work will focus on early stage evidencing of project viability, organisational capacity / governance work and development of business plans, with precise work streams tailored according to individual project need.

With a background in working with community or voluntary groups and an interest or experience in theatre or heritage buildings, the successful applicant will have strong skills in project management and delivery as well as the ability to work with a wide range of voluntary and professional stakeholders to support the restoration, reopening or revitalising of theatres on our Theatres at Risk Register.

The role is partly field-based with the Theatres at Risk Adviser expected to travel as needed throughout the UK for face to face meetings with campaign groups, theatre owners, operators and / or local councils and attend a monthly team meeting in the Theatres Trust's London office.
