Scotland eases restrictions from 19 July

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced that Scotland would move to Level 0 on 19 July.

For theatres this means that they will be able to open with larger audiences but some restrictions remain in place:

  • There will still be limits on the size of events and stadia attendances - but these will increase outdoors to 2000 seated and 1000 standing, and indoors to 400.
  • Social distancing rule to change from 2m to 1m where it isn’t already. Given the infection rate, the social distancing rules will not be fully removed as had previously been hoped.
  • Masks will remain mandatory.
