Dara O’Briain speaks ahead of Birmingham show

7th November 2015

Dara O’Briain, on the board of The Theatres Trust, has been quoted in Native Monster Entertainment Unleashed.

It remains his first love. Dara O’Briain may have become a household name through Mock The Week, The Apprentice: You’re Fired! and Star Gazing Live, but there’s nothing he loves more than being in theatres to perform stand-up.

“The other day, I sat in an empty theatre thinking, ‘I just love these rooms’. I’m on the board of The Theatres Trust in order to protect these wonderful buildings. It’s not about nimby-ism; it’s because I adore these places. It still gives me such a thrill to walk on stage.”

London's Coronet to close: End of era for iconic film and music venue

6th November 2015

The Theatres Trust has been mentioned in Southwark Today.

One of South London’s oldest live music entertainment venues is to close its doors.

Bosses of the Coronet at Elephant and Castle said rather than fighting to stay open they would focus on celebrating its “incredible history”.

Last week, the Government decided not to make it a listed building and it still remains on The Theatre’s Trust’s at risk list.
