The Theatres Trust objects to demolition of listed Crown Theatre Salford

29th October 2015

The Theatres Trust has been quoted in Salford Star.

The Theatres Trust, the national advisory public body for theatres, submitted a formal objection to proposals to demolish the Grade 2 listed Crown Theatre in Eccles, arguing that there is no “public benefit resulting from the complete loss of the heritage asset”.

The Theatres Trust joins Historic England, Salford and Eccles MP Rebecca Long-Bailey, local councillors and the Save The Crown Theatre campaign in opposing demolition of the old theatre to build unaffordable flats on the site.
