The Architecture Adviser will also take over the lead role in the delivery of the Theatres at Risk Service Area.

Design Council welcomes the transfer of architecture policy function from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) as a positive move in its mission to promote high-quality design in the built environment. DCLG will now be responsible for promoting high-quality design in the built environment.

Machinery of Government Change: Architecture policy

31st March 2015

On 26 March 2015.Prime Minister (Mr David Cameron) made a Machinery of Government Change to Architecture policy. This written ministerial statement confirms that responsibility for promoting high quality design in the built environment will transfer from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to the Department for Communities and Local Government. This change will be effective immediately.
