MPs launch inquiry after research questions ineffective Government planning targets

On Friday 4 April the Communities and Local Government Committee launched an inquiry into the operation of the National Planning Policy Framework. The inquiry follows research findings, published by the Committee today, that some local planning authorities may be meeting the Government’s planning performance targets despite being ineffective and displaying poor practice. The research also suggests that, although the NPPF has been broadly welcomed, a focus on good practice in local planning authorities is required if its potential is to be realised.

Creative Scotland allocates £3.1m to youth arts

Brewery Theatre, Bristol for sale

If you have a spare £640,000, you can now buy the Brewery Theatre on North Street. Bristol mayor George Ferguson is the current lease holder on the building. Ferguson owns the Bristol Beer Factory brewery behind the building, which has publicly stated its expansion plans – hoping to sell the Grain Barge in order to fund larger premises.
