The Hambrough Group has announced work has begun to get the Ventnor Winter Gardens re-opened.

The original planned refurbishment and development of the site was put on hold due to unexpected changes within the group and the current economic climate. However, aware of the frustrations of residents, the group has implemented an alternative programme of works in the short-term. After communications with the Isle of Wight College, the group has announced it is working as a private/community partnership.

New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth to be re-opened

The grand opening of the New Theatre Royal is a few months away. The building is a £4million funded project and is desired to fuse modern technology and heritage conversation.

The New Theatre Royal is scheduled to become a community hub and expected to produce quality performances for entertainment and education.The theatre, on completion will provide a creative learning space with intricate focus on educational workshops. The project expands the original theatre that was damaged by fire in 1972.

Delicatessen’s current building, Marylebone Gardens, is like being backstage of the biggest show you’ve never seen. Each corner of the building’s 45,000 square feet is being made use of, as artists’ studios, rehearsal spaces or in an immersive piece of theatre. Theatre Delicatessen – whose Artistic Directors, Roland Smith and Jess Brewster have turned the former home of BBC Radio London into a temporary hub for the arts, ahead of the site’s redevelopment. And what a hub it is. Downstairs, a gallery is being constructed to host two exhibitions in the next few months. Last year it was a studio theatre. This is the type of space Theatre Delicatessen run – flexible and open to any artist with a bright idea.
