Heritage and Theatres Trust bosses welcome £4 million project to restore Bradford’s historic St George’s Hall

28th March 2016

Ross Anthony, Planning Adviser from the Theatres Trust has been quoted in Bradford Telegraph and Argus.

Plans to restore Bradford’s historic St George’s Hall in a £4 million project have been welcomed by Historic England and The Theatres Trust.

Ross Anthony, planning adviser at The Theatres Trust, welcomed the application “to help conserve and ensure the venue is fit for purpose into the future”.

“In our opinion, the works proposed aid the efficient operation of the Hall without compromising the heritage or architectural significance of the heritage asset and we would therefore support the granting of planning and listed building consent.”

London’s fringe theatres supported by Soho Estates

Tim Eyles is quoted saying, “Fawn’s generous donation is such great news for small theatres across London and I’m really looking forward to working with her.

Every time we’re able to announce a new donor to the London Theatres Scheme we’re helping to secure the future of live theatre across London. So many small theatres are working on such tight budgets they struggle to make improvements to their buildings—and we know these grants can make a huge difference.”

Theatres Trust responds to Culture White Paper

24th March 2016

We are pleased that the Culture White Paper recognises the absolute importance of the arts and culture in people’s lives – in education and the economy; within local communities and internationally. Whilst the ambition of the White Paper shares much with Jennie Lee’s paper of 50 years ago, in our own 40th Anniversary year we agree that the economic challenges faced today are very different.
