Cabinet to consider funding package to help Plymouth Theatre Royal's regeneration

Plymouth’s Cabinet members are to consider a funding package that could unlock millions of pounds to help the Theatre Royal regeneration plans and the city’s economy. The theatre has applied for £5 million Arts Council funding, but it is conditional on Plymouth City Council committing to three years funding and the theatre raising another £2 million.

Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre to open doors to public this Winter

Heritage Lottery Fund Announces New Funding Programmes to open 2013

The Heritage Lottery Fund has announced that the “Your Heritage” grants programme will be replaced by two new funding programmes. The new Sharing Heritage programme will make grants of up to £10,000 to not-for-profit group wanting to explore, share and celebrate their community’s heritage.

Arts Council England Small Capital Programme open

Arts Council have announced the opening of the Capital small grants fund. The programme is designed to address the needs of organisations whose development plans do not involve large-scale work (awards will be between £100,000 and £499,999 pounds) and is described as “one of a number of measures the Arts Council is putting in place to support organisations become more sustainable and resilient businesses”.

New-look Carnegie Theatre in Workington to be unveiled

31st August 2012

The curtain will be raised next week on the newly-revamped Carnegie Theatre. The Workington venue closed in May for a £220,000 refurbishment to bring the building into the 21st century. The balcony of the theatre has been opened up to give more space for new seating, floors have been replaced and new sound and lighting systems installed.
