Titchfield Festival Theatre's brand new studio theatre ready for action

A new studio theatre has opened at Titchfield Festival Theatre as part of the extensive renovation work that the theatre is currently undertaking. The new studio is built on a mezzanine which allows space to incorporate bar areas on each floor, a cafe seating area, and enough room to house a traditional cinema organ. 'South Bank' plan for Woolwich Royal Arsenal approved

Greenwich Council has given the go-ahead for a 450-seat theatre, a performance courtyard and 10 rehearsal studios at the Woolwich development in south-east London. The first phase will cost £32m and create 400 jobs, the council said. For more details see BBC News

The Exchange: a brand new arts space for London

Futurecity is supporting developer Ashbourne Beech’s plans for a new £7m arts space, with the working title of ‘The Exchange’, which is scheduled to open its doors in 2020 on the Isle of Dogs in East London. Between March and May 2017, Futurecity is looking for dynamic proposals to run The Exchange’s 224 seat theatre and two additional studios for rehearsals or performances. New visualisations give first look at redeveloped Unity Theatre

Unity Theatre has released the first images of its ongoing redevelopment. The theatre has worked with Liverpool based architects, K2, and contractors and social enterprise, Vivark, to deliver the ambitious redevelopment project which will transform the façade and front of house spaces. What does the future hold for Plymouth's theatres?

The Theatres Trust Theatre Buildings at Risk register (TBAR) has been mentioned in an overview of Plymouth theatres marking World Theatre Day in the Plymouth Herald.

Now in its tenth year, the register reflects growing public interest in theatres and the built environment, and a wider acknowledgement of the importance of theatre buildings within local communities.

Multi-million pound boost for Brighton's Royal Pavilion Estate

Plans to transform two venues as part of a £41 million regeneration project have received a £3 million cash boost from local growth fund, Coast to Capital. The first phase of the scheme will transform the Grade I listed Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and Grade II Studio Theatre, formerly the Pavilion Theatre. Work on the scheme is already underway as contractors work to provide new state-of the art facilities including increased capacity seating and a new viewing gallery. Parkwood Theatres may take on North Devon theatres 'very soon' says council

North Devon Council has asked Parkwood Theatres to provide a temporary theatre service. The council will tender a contract for the long term operation of both theatres later this year, with the intention being that the contract will start on April 1, 2018. – read the full story at: Devon Live
