Casino plans confirmed at London Hippodrome by reorganised United Leisure Gaming

The London Hippodrome has confirmed it will undergo a £15million refurbishment and reopen as a casino, including a 150-seat cabaret venue. Work will begin after 14 June. Behind the scheme are Simon Thomas and his father Jimmy, who have recently announced that they have successfully concluded a deal to buy out their United Leisure Gaming consortium partners.

RSC Transformation - Next Stage

Taking place in The Courtyard Theatre the Next Stage is part of the Birthday Celebrations weekend, and offers the chance to hear the latest news about the transformation of the venue. Tom Thumb theatre under hammer

The Tom Thumb theatre, thought to be the smallest in the world, is to go under the hammer in Kent. A guide price of £125,000 to £135,000 has been set by the auctioneers. It has 60 red velvet seats, a small stage with a curtain and a dressing room. The theatre entertained audiences for 20 years before the curtain finally fell in 2005.
