Scarborough Open-air theatre approval likely

26th September 2008

The derelict open-air theatre is due to be transformed to become the centrepiece of a £150m development amid hopes a Yorkshire resort will cultivate an international reputation for the arts. The multi-million-pound scheme is aimed at breathing new life into Scarborough by providing leisure and entertainment facilities. Council officials have recommended the application be given the go-ahead when planning and development councillors meet in early October.
