Marlowe theatre redevelopment gets the green light

Canterbury council’s development control committee has now approved the £25.2 million plans for a 1,200-seat auditorium at the Marlowe Theatre and a second 150-seat performance space. The plans went through on an 11 for and two against vote.

Darlington Civic Theatre listed Grade II

15th August 2008

The Secretary of State, after consulting English Heritage, has decided to list Darlington Civic Theatre at Grade II. The Theatres Trust supported the application for listing as the Civic Theatre is an interesting early example of a variety theatre which has been preserved in its original form despite later additional structures being added.

London's Green Theatre Programme

The Theatres Trust is supporting the launch of the London Mayor’s Green Theatre Programme at PLASA08 at Earls Court from 07 – 10 September 2008, with a special Exhibition to profile the Programme and its Case Studies. The Programme aims to reduce London theatre emissions by reducing the energy they use.
