King's Theatre Glasgow is to have a seven year facelift

14th May 2008

The 104-year old King’s Theatre is to undergo a £7.2million renovation over the next seven years to restore it to its original glory. The focus of the work is a full refurbishment of all front of house areas, and the external fabric of the building, including a full structural assessment of the stage and grid, phasing dependant on funding.

Bristol Old Vic could turn into a cultural hub

The revamped Bristol Old Vic could become a cultural hub for the region after a £9 million refurbishment. Plans for the 241-year-old Theatre Royal are still being developed and aim to complement proposals already agreed to refurbish both the main auditorium and the studio theatre with new seating, lighting and disabled access. A wide-reaching consultation on the plans is already under way.
