Gwynedd arts centre plans to be reviewed

Wales Millennium Centre architects, Capita Percy Thomas, have been appointed to look at the feasibility of replacing Theatr Gwynedd in Bangor, which closes its doors in Autumn. The Unite union and critics have called for the closure to be postponed, as the waiting time for the new arts centre would be unjustly long.

Arts Council funding in Wales

11th February 2008

Arts Council of Wales (ACW) announced its spending plans for 2008/2009. New funding for community arts and investments to raise the national and international profile of Wales sat alongside cuts to six organisations and standstill funding for many more. The names of the six organisations losing funding have not been published, with ACW citing client confidentiality. However, St Donats Arts Centre has said it stands to lose its grant of £45,000.
