A landmark Dewsbury building, that used to house the Pioneer Theatre, is to be restored to its Victorian glory and developers hope it will set the pace for a new wave of regeneration. The Pioneer building on Northgate, built by the Co-operative Society in 1857, will be home to dozens of boutique shops and luxury apartments.

On 12 June 2007 The Theatres Trust hosted a Conference, Performing Theatres? at the Young Vic. It brought together those responsible for creating performances, staging productions, running theatres, managing facilities and attracting audiences to debate what design features deliver performing theatres in the twenty-first century.
