  • Refurbishment of Terrace Restaurant at National Theatre

    The Trust supported refurbishments and reconfigurations of the Terrace Restaurant and Bar at the National Theatre to improve operational efficiency and function ahead of a new tenant moving in.

  • Refurbishments at Theatre Royal Brighton

    Listed building consent for a number of internal refurbishments was supported, which also included reconfiguration of WCs and a new opening into the neighbouring pub which provides better wheelchair accessibility.

  • Alterations and return to use of Pontypridd's Muni

    The Trust welcomed planning permission and listed building consent for internal and external alterations which will see the Muni returned to use. It closed in 2018, and was also for a time on the Trust's Theatres at Risk register.

  • Additional front of house and accessibility for Phoenix Theatre

    The Trust has supported plans to integrate neighbouring retail units into the Phoenix in London's West End, which will provide additional front of house space and WCs along with a lift which will make more of the building accessible.

  • Alterations to WCs at Leeds Grand

    The Trust supported elements of a scheme to refurbish and increase WC provision, but raised concerns at loss of historic cisterns requesting submission of justification and other options for retention and refurbishment to be considered.

  • Restoration and return to use of Prescot Picture Palace

    The Trust welcomed proposals to restore the former Prescot Picture Palace to cinema use alongside other arts and community space.

  • Works at Scarborough Open Air Theatre for increased bars

    The Trust supported planning permission for replacement of existing bars with larger structures including infilling of part of a lake, subject to biodiversity mitigation recommendations being undertaken.

  • Minor external alteration at Lowestoft's Seagull Theatre

    The Trust supported permission for alteration of a door which will be converted to a new public entrance directly into the theatre's studio space.

  • Integration of retail unit into Sheffield's Montgomery

    The Trust supported change of use of a vacant shop next to the Montgomery Theatre and Arts Centre's entrance which will provide a larger entry with improved accessibility.

  • Discharge of condition at development next to Theatr Colwyn

    Partial discharge of a planning condition related to noise mitigations to protect Theatr Colwyn was supported. The submitted noise assessment used acceptable methodology and set out recommendations, but measures must be implemented for full approval.

  • Extension to Mull Theatre

    Planning permission for an extension to provide Mull Theatre with foyer space including a cafe/bar along with workshops was supported.

  • Outline plans for Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock

    The Trust was supportive in principle of initial town centre regeneration plans for the town which include extension and improvements to the Prince of Wales Theatre.
