  • Temporary 'London Wonderground' at Earls Court site

    The Trust supported temporary planning permission for the installation of performance spaces and supporting facilities for Underbelly's 'London Wonderground' festival in summer 2021.

  • Repainting of Bathgate's Regal Community Theatre

    The Trust supported plans by the Regal to repaint their front facade and add lighting. The building is Category B listed as a fine example provincial cinema architecture and containing rare surviving plasterwork of significance by John Alexander.

  • Revision to Theatr Clywd redevelopment plans

    The Trust supported revised proposals for the theatre's redevelopment and refurbishment programme which will see an amended front facade which better reflects the building's existing character.

  • Residential conversion for Walsall's Imperial

    The Trust objected to plans to convert the Imperial in Walsall into flats, citing irreversible harm to the building and evidence of local need for cinema and live performance. The Imperial was most recently a Wetherspoon's pub.

  • Minor extension at Reading's Progress Theatre

    The Trust welcomed a proposal by the Progress to build a modest rear extension to enable revision of the theatre's toilet layout, improving provision and adding a front-of-house accessible WC. Previously wheelchair users had to go backstage.

  • Residential conversion of Mill at Sonning's rehearsal space

    The Trust raised no objection to the principle of the theatre converting its rehearsal space into flats to raise funds to support its operations, but urged caution that relying on hiring external space would reduce the theatre's flexibility and add costs.

  • Facade retention for Gravesend Majestic development

    The Trust supported redevelopment of the site of the Majestic in Gravesend as it would retain the building's historic facade. The auditorium had been demolished following a major fire.

  • Further theatre plans for Olympia redevelopment

    The Trust was consulted on an environmental scoping consultation for a further part of the Olympia site which show a 200-seat theatre is planned. The existing redevelopment will deliver a new large-scale theatre and a large music venue.

  • Emergency exit revisions at Pateley Bridge Playhouse

    The Trust raised no objections to alterations at the rear of the theatre to improve the theatre's means of escape, which is part of a programme of works for the small community-run theatre.

  • Replacement heating and ventilation at Blackfriars Arts Centre

    Listed building consent at Boston's Blackfriars Arts Centre was supported, a project that had been supported by a grant from the Trust.

  • Minor revision to Borough Theatre works

    The Trust supported a minor revision to existing planning consent at Abergavenny's Borough Theatre enabling relocation of air handling.

  • Refurbishments and accessible dressing room at Lawrence Batley Theatre

    The Trust supported refurbishments at Huddersfield's Lawrence Batley Theatre, but urged amendment to its proposed accessible dressing room to ensure it meets requirements.
