Civic Trust Award goes to rejuvenation of Bury St Edmunds Theatre Royal

17th June 2008

The second Haymills project to receive a Civic Trust Award in recognition of true construction best practice. was the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds. This 1819 building is one of a handful of Grade 1 listed theatres in the country and is the only working theatre in the National Trust’s portfolio of properties.

The rejuvenated playhouse continues to reflect the period architecture and historical importance within the local community whilst sensitively introducing a modern twist.
