  Photograph of a black and white postcard showing the façade of the Hammersmith Palace of Varieties within a streetscape of King’s Street in Hammersmith, London. The theatre is slightly left of centre on the postcard, on the left hand side of the road. It is a three-storey building with a broad, pedimented canopy over the main entrance bearing the word ‘PALACE’ across its side, and ‘PIT’ across the front. A boldly arched opening at first floor level forms the centrepiece of the façade.
