Colour photograph showing a rear elevation of the former Operetta House, in use as a nightclub at the time the photograph was taken, in Clacton-on-Sea. Taken from across the road, it shows a brick rear wall with stone dressings extending the width of five shops that occupy the ground floor level below. Adding just one extra storey for the most part, each bay contains a window and is topped by an alternating brick and iron cornice, giving the impression of a balcony. The three centre bays advance an extra storey still, heavily decorated and crowned by an arched pediment that is open below and contains a head sculpture.
