Colour photograph showing the auditorium at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe. Taken from the stage left end of the dress circle, it shows the dress circle, with the gods’ balcony front and ceiling above, and two superimposed stage right boxes, one at each balcony level, to the right. The upper box is topped by an onion-domed canopy and flanked by little Jacobean-style obelisk finials. The box and balcony fronts are decorated in high relief moulded plasterwork in the form of cartouches with reclining maidens and musical instruments. The proscenium arch, which is partly in shot to the far right, has plasterwork of similar quality.
