  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade of the Magistrates Courts, formerly the Theatre Royal, in Derby. Taken from across the road, it shows a grey-stuccoed façade of three wide bays and two storeys with white bands interrupted by tall arched windows at first floor level and a strip of plate glass windows along the ground floor (which is largely masked by a tree in the foreground). It has a straight cornice and parapet with a pitched roof visible above and the original brick shell visible on a sidewall to the right. The right hand side of the building is stepped, containing an arched doorway.
