  • Description
Black and white photograph showing the façade and side elevation of the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh. Taken from a building across the road, it shows a stuccoed frontage in French classical style with a long sidewall visible at an acute angle to the right. The three central bays of the façade form a balustraded balcony at first floor level, with attached Corinthian columns and flanking pilasters rising to a triangular pediment. A steeply pitched mansard roof tops the entire composition. Other visible architectural and decorative elements include; pedimented windows, rusticated archways, entablature and a long canopy.
