Rear Elevation of the former Theatre Royal, Bournemouth, 1994
  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade of a ‘Stanley’ casino, originally the rear wall of the Theatre Royal, in Bournemouth. Taken from down the hill slightly on Yelverton Road, it shows a red brick rear wall dominating the right hand side, with part of the sidewall visible to the right. (The building next door being recessed from the first floor level up.) The rear wall has a series of boarded-up window features with the former get-in visible above a canopy over an entrance in the bottom left hand corner. Other doorways are visible, one of which would presumably have been the original stage door. The remnants of THEATRE ROYAL can be seen running vertically down the sidewall.
