  • Description
Colour photograph showing the auditorium of the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford. Taken from the slips to stage left at upper circle level, it shows two pairs of boxes framed by composite columns stage right, with slips of the upper circle and dress circle on the left hand side, and the stage and safety curtain below an elliptical-arched, painted tympanum to the right (the rectangular proscenium is masked in part by a lighting rig). The ceiling, rising to a high octagonal dome, is visible at the top of the photograph and part of the stalls can be seen in the bottom left hand corner. A broad semicircular arch between telamons surmounts the boxes at upper circle level.
