  • Description
Colour photograph showing the auditorium of a Mecca bingo hall, formerly the Hippodrome, in Brighton. Taken from the balcony to stage left looking across the auditorium, it shows the other side of the balcony opposite, with the area that would have been the stalls below, a onion-domed box stage right to the right, and a vast ceiling above that comes in the form of a panelled tent and is richly decorated with boldly modelled Baroque plasterwork. There is a balustraded gallery at the top in the centre.
