  • Description
Colour photograph showing the auditorium of the Hippodrome in Bristol. Taken from the upper circle stage right looking across the auditorium, the upper circle raked seating dominates the right hand side of the photograph, with six boxes, the upper circle slips, the stalls and the proscenium visible to the left. There are three boxes on each level, divided by giant fluted Doric columns that carry the second balcony slips. The elliptically arched proscenium is set in a deep, panelled reveal with a niche visible at the side.
