  Colour photograph showing the façade of the Bristol Old Vic. The theatre occupies the two central blocks out of four that are visible. On the left and in the foreground is a plain brick building in four bays which all rise to small triangular gables creating a zigzag effect along the roof. BRISTOL OLD VIC appears in tablature at first floor level below some windows. A grand block to the right contains the main entrance and a tall pedimented window on each of five bays (with the outer bays slightly recessed) that are framed by four columns rising from first floor level to entablature. An attic level above the entablature is as wide as the three centre bays, topped by a gable bearing a coat-of-arms. The space either side forms small balustraded balconies.
