  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade of the New Theatre in Cardiff. It looks directly at a red brick and stone entrance block on a curved corner set between two stuccoed flanks. There is a shallow loggia at second floor level with coupled Ionic columns supporting a curved entablature and balustrade, set between short, domed octagonal turrets. NEW THEATRE appears in red tablature below the loggia and again on the sidewall to the right. An iron and glass canopy with lanterns curves around the façade over various entrances, with signage below the canopy advertising a production of ‘High Society’. More signage on the sidewall to the left advertises ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Confusions’.
