Details

The Taliesin Centre is owned and operated by the University, but is open to public use, with a lively programme of drama, dance and music. The building is of brick construction and built on a steep gradient with the corner entrance approached by steps. The brickwork is relieved by a band of fenestration at ground floor level which is repeated at attic level. The fan-shaped auditorium is plain with a single bank of seating. The stage, a hinged proscenium, is basic with 15 hemp sets but insufficient height for full flying. It is possible to replace the forestage with an orchestra pit as it is on a screw driven lift. Foyers are on two levels and the Centre also has spaces for music workshops and art studios.
