Details

Date uncertain, but in use by 1907 and as 'theatre' on O.S. map of 1923. Listed as a cinema in 1938. Simple elevation to Dilston Terrace finished in dressed sandstone, with quoins running top to bottom. At ground floor two single doors remain, one at each corner of the elevation. There is evidence to suggest that a wider central double doorway was present in the centre of the elevation at ground floor level. It has been blocked up rather well with matching sandstone. The upper storey consists of three rectangular windows elongated in portrait format. The central window is the narrowest and the longest, projecting below the sill of the other two. This central window is flanked on each side by a double cross-mullioned window. The façe is capped at rain gutter level by a small central sandstone cartouche. The roof is of Welsh slate. The side of the theatre is in rough sandstone. Internal inspection not possible at time of visit.
