Details
The artsdepot is part of a major development comprising a bus terminal, a big store and penthouse apartments. The six storey high foyer has an escalator to the upper levels. Artsdepot has two theatres, the Pentland and the Studio, a dance studio, an art gallery, arts education areas and a cafénd bar. The Pentland is a large courtyard theatre seating 400, with floor that can be raked, raised or lowered; forestage elevator for orchestra pit, which also permits storage of seating wagons in the basement. Balcony on three sides with spacious technical gallery over. Fly tower with 30 sets of counterweights; orchestra reflectors can be lowered and linked. The 150 seat Studio is designed as an intimate space with the seating wrapped around the stage. Optional thrust is available.
