Details

A multi-purpose hall with theatrical atmosphere. Riotous plasterwork of good quality and excellent condition. Very ornate barrel vault ceiling. Range of windows down each side. Curved circle front not returned to proscenium wall. Permanent tiered theatre seats in circle. Removable linked chairs in stalls. Rectangular proscenium arch with Britannia and maidens frieze above in somewhat Arts and Crafts style. Rendered ‘Council office’ façe with bay window and portico above main entrance. Symmetrical slightly projecting wings with three lower, and two first floor rectangular windows surmounted by one circular window at second floor. Stagehouse in rubble stonework.
