Palace

2057

Salvation Army temple converted to ciné-variety 1915 for Fred Newman. Plain, pitched roof exterior; rendered façade, probably of 1920. No fly tower. Seemed to have been completely rebuilt with one square balcony with slips returned to proscenium wall. Deep and wide stage. Under stage area inaccessible. Sparse decoration but probably unaltered. Converted into a bingo club in 1963 and subsequently demolished.
