Details

Built as a cinéariety, almost on the water’s edge, the Riverside continues to be used mainly as a cinema, with occasional live shows (about 10% of the time) by both professional and amateur groups. Major works in 1985 improved stage conditions. Externally, a broad gabled rectangular building with sparse ornament. Internally, raked auditorium with shallow end balcony (not used for seating). Barrel-vaulted ceiling, like many of its kind and date. The original cinéariety stage was trapped. The present stage has a 4.87m (16ft) revolve owned by an amateur company.
