The exterior, by Cecil Masey and Reginald Uren, is of brick, dramatically modern, with large streamlined windows in Dudok style above which is an attic which carried the name GRANADA in neon. Thin brick tower with open look-out top. The interior, like the Granada Tooting, is the work of Komisarjevsky and, although smaller, is spectacular. From the foyer a handsome double staircase with ornamental wrought-iron balustrade leads to the upper foyer, a 'hall of mirrors' with the same Moorish cloister appearance of the Walthamstow Granada. The auditorium is a Venetian Gothic fantasy, reminiscent of Tooting, with high-arched panels and pilasters, elaborate ceiling and chandeliers; proscenium with cusped pendants above and panelled decoration. There is a theatrical stage, fly tower and orchestra pit, though these areas, together with parts of the auditorium, have been modified for bingo. Komisarjevsky's brilliant heraldic colours have been dulled by nicotine deposits, but this magnificent auditorium would, if restored, be one of the most impressive interiors of its time in South East London.
