Details

Built for Herbert Yapp, together with the Forum Fulham Road and the Forum Kentish Town (to name but two), all by J Stanley Beard. The building is in Classical Roman style. The façe has a central bay of six giant Doric columns in antis, rising above entrance canopy to attic above the entablature. Outer bays are plain, topped with squat square turrets; single-storey exit blocks at side extremities. The classical style is continued inside where much of the original detail remains. Full stage facilities and fly tower. Proscenium, also with Doric columns, much obscured by present large screen mounted in front. Restoration of former caféestaurant at first floor level has been discussed.
