Details

This was a very simple steel-framed building with wooden walls and wood inner linings, built as a skating rink in 1909 but adapted for variety shows within nine months. A year later it was again adapted for alternating variety and skating. In this form it had tip-up seats and stage, both removable. By 1921 it was cinema only. The following year it became a warehouse. Despite its 1910 name of New Theatre it had few theatrical features and its live use was, at best, intermittent.
