Details

Designed originally as a palm court, the Grand Pavilion has always operated as a multi-purpose venue rather than simply a theatre. The Main Hall has temporary seating which can be removed for dancing on the fully sprung dance floor, and balcony. The proscenium stage has no orchestra pit. The Stage Door is a studio theatre in the basement with small platform stage. The Pavilion provides a variety of programming as well as facilities for conferences, exhibitions and weddings. The 2008 refurbishment works provided the theatre with a daytime cafe-bar that makes the most of the building's sea-front location.
