Details

Opened as cinéariety in 1910 as Palasseum, renamed Kings in 1911, later becoming a cinema. No description of interior found. Exterior square three-storey building on corner site, now with modern entrance, canopy, readograph etc. The interior was remodelled in modern style in 1949. In 1973, the theatre reopened as the Kings Road Theatre, presenting the popular Rocky Horror show. It closed in 1979, at the end of the run. In 1980, the auditorium was subdivided and it reopened as a four-screen cinema.
