Details

Mainly a variety house, until condemned and closed down in 1938. Later used as a wool store. The Princes Theatre (q.v.) was built above it in 1876, a remarkably early example in world terms of ‘stacked’ twin theatres. Both theatres were demolished in 1964, and the site is now part of the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television.
