Details
Built for Sidney Bernstein as the Empire Kinema in 1920, it had 1450 seats all on one level. There was a stage. Reconstructed in 1927 with a balcony and an interior by Komisarjevsky, the capacity rose to 1777. Became a bingo house after 1962, a live theatre in 1994 and, later, an Asian cinema. Church use from 1997 to 2006.
