Details

The Courtyard Theatre company were originally based in King's Cross. During major development of the area, the theatre space was closed in 2004 and the company moved to the Theatre Museum in Covent Garden. Following the closure of the Theatre Museum in 2007, the company found a new home in the Grade II listed Hoxton Library. Opening in October 2007, the move to the library building provided extended facilities for the Courtyard, including two theatre spaces - the 150-seat Main House Theatre, and the 80-seat Studio; the White Room, a rehearsal space with permanent dance floor; and caféar. The main theatre is fully flexible with loose seating that can be raised and re-configured to allow for in-the-round or end-on theatre. The studio has a raised stage at one end, and also has dance studio flooring.
