Details

In 1976 a group of five dance artists formed the X6 collective, seeking to find a space where they could work outside of already established companies and organisations. They settled in a disused warehouse in Butlers Wharf, which became the X6 Dance Space. However development of the area led them, in 1980, to a derelict varnish factory in Chisenhale Road, which has now been converted to the Chisenhale Dance Space. Chisenhale Dance Space has two studios with sprund dance floors, available for rehearsal, performance, workshops, etc. The Main Studio doubles as a theatre seating 75 in raked seating.
