Details

The Pleasance Theatre Islington is the sister theatre of the Pleasance in Edinburgh. The building that houses the London venue was originally the timber store for the London Omnibus Company - its former life still recognised in some retained features, notably a large winch by the entrance. The theatre was converted in 1995/6, the space designed by Pleasance founder Christopher Richardson. In October 2003 the company office was moved and its space converted to the 'StageSpace' studio theatre, a flexible space designed for the development of new works.
