Details

Bristo Hall, upstairs at The Forest, is the flat floored hall of the former Bristo Place Adventist Church. The balcony houses a (working) Gray & Davidson pipe organ. The Forest came in to being as an organisation in 2000, but following a fire in their Guthrie Street home, the Bristo Place building was purchased by the Edinburgh University Settlement and converted to cafénd arts centre, with gallery space, music studio and more. The Forest is a free, volunteer-run, arts and events space, including (and funded by) its vegetarian café In 2010 it has been reported that the Edinburgh University Settlement plans to sell the property, leaving the future of its resident organisations within the venue in doubt.
