St. Peter's Theatre

3661

A small theatre in a hall behind St. Peter's Church, purpose-built by the church in 1924 for the benefit of the local community.

St. Peter's Theatre is used by several amateur groups, and has three resident companies - including two theatre schools.

Seating 200 in tiered seating, the theatre is small and simply decorated but technically well-equipped, with sixteen flying lines above the raked proscenium stage. The auditorium sits on the upper level of the building, with a lower hall and further rooms available at ground floor level for rehearsal and other ancillary requirements.

The theatre closed in 2013 and has a very uncertain future as the Church is considering a move to new premises as part of the Somers Town regeneration project, meaning the theatre could be demolished or converted.
